My Journey with TCM

In my role as the Partner Relations Coordinator, I am excited to be part of God’s transformational work in the city of Toronto. My hope for you reading this is that you would journey alongside TCM, whether in prayer, giving financially, and/or volunteering and participate in God’s transformational work in the lives of children and their families, and in return, experience God’s transformational work in your own life.

Outreach Worker Perspective: Journey in the Process

After completing my first full year of KIC, EPIC, and Sonshine Day Camp, I look back with overflowing gratitude. Before onboarding the TCM team, I wasn’t sure how everything would pan out. Jesse Ketchum was a new site, I was a new staff member, I would be working with an entirely new team, and doing my first ministry job. However, in all of this, I have seen how God works in the journey.

Through God’s Transformational Power

Since 1879, Toronto City Mission has held the blessing of participating in God’s good work in Toronto. God Promises to be with You

As we follow the story of Moses, we learn of the different ways God continues to be with Moses and the Isrealites. He protects them from harm as they leave Egypt by parting the Red Sea so that they could get away from Pharaoh (Exodus 14).

Does God Answer Prayers?

All of this is to say, in humility I am not God. You are not God. We are not God. God is Sovereign and we are not. Behind the yeses, the noes, and that waits of our own personal prayers, God is at work, but also orchestrating something behind the scenes for someone else.

Yet Not I

To make a covenant would mean to make a promise that tied you and another’s mortality to the survival of both of your integrity; this is the extremity and gravity to the covenant-making process shown to us in the Old Testament. The covenant God makes with Abram has always been my favourite.

God is Faithful

This summer we were blessed to host 7 weeks of Sonshine Day Camp in the Flemingdon Park, Kingston-Galloway and Jesse Ketchum communities. God answered our prayers by calling 13 individuals to serve as interns this summer which enabled us to welcome more kids to camp.
