Spark is a community of supporters who engage with Toronto City Mission on a monthly basis. With reliance on God and through prayer, volunteering, and financial gifts, we can build a sustainable foundation to bring hope to children and families impacted by poverty.

What will you do as a Spark?

We rely almost entirely on the generosity of supporters like you to help with the preventative and transformational work that is done through Toronto City Mission.

In Toronto, many families are living in poverty, not only physical, but more importantly spiritual poverty. We have developed programs that through God’s transformational power, enable us to build long-term relationships with children and families to share the hope we have in Christ.

    • Praying is foundational to a believer’s life; it sustains, protects, encourages, and leads us.

    • It is relational rather than telling God what, when and how we want something.

    • Prayer is becoming more intimate with God in order to understand His desires and passions for us and those we pray for.

    • God has given us gifts and has called us to use these gifts to be active witnesses for His glory in service to others.

It is my privilege to have been involved with Toronto City Mission (TCM) for many years. I am pleasantly serving on the board of directors as the chair. Having this role allows me to understand, in depth, the important ministry of TCM and to see the hope brought to children and families impacted by poverty. Since 1879, TCM has stayed true to its calling to share the love of Jesus with the disadvantaged throughout the city of Toronto. This steadfastness over the years is very encouraging and is one of the main reasons that my wife and I decided to put TCM into our wills.
