When you support Toronto City Mission, it helps make a positive transformation in the lives of children at Sonshine Day Camp; a free seven week day camp offered in two communities impacted by poverty. See how your support can make a difference this summer.

Children who participate in Sonshine Day Camp learn healthy relationship behaviours from staff, interns, and mission teams. Your gift gives us the opportunity to hire 8 summer interns who are passionate and eager to serve at TCM.

“I have heard their stories of broken families, responsibility for their siblings, bullying, among other stories of pain and loss. Despite this, these kids are exuberant and are testimony of strength. It’s an honour to help provide an environment where they can feel safe, have fun with their peers, and learn about the hope of Jesus!”

Before Sonshine Day Camp begins, interns and Outreach Workers will spend three weeks planning the curriculum. Your gift gives the opportunity for kids to be involved in programming where they will be engaged in Bible-based lessons, worship songs, cooperative games, and field trips.

“We asked questions about what heaven would be like, and how they could be accepted into God’s Kingdom. At first, they believed that doing good works or being a good person would get them into heaven. We shared about Jesus and the gospel and by the end of the thirty minutes, all the children accepted Christ into their lives.”

Throughout the school year, groups of youths from the community participate in the Teens Leading Communities (TLC) program where they learn valuable leadership skills. Your gift gives youths the opportunity to give back to their community by applying their new leadership skills at Sonshine Day Camp.

“Not only have I seen these campers become TLCs, but I also get to help them along in their faith journey and grow as mature Christians and leaders at their school, homes, and community.”

Your support brings hope to children and families impacted by poverty. A gift of $230 will send one kid to camp for one week.

Wishing you a blessed summer,
