Help Ashley in her Faith Journey Today
Dear Friends,
After a successful summer with online programs, delivery of care packages, walk by treat days for the community, and deepened relationships with parents, we are mindful of just how different this back-to-school season is from prior years. Despite the uncertainties of the school year one fact prevails: God remains faithful to us. With an additional gift of $35, you can continue to bring this love and certainty, shared throughout the summer, to the life of one child impacted by poverty through our Kids in Community (KIC) after-school program and other programs that help families impacted by poverty lead transformed lives.
When Ontario first went into lockdown, most of us struggled to adapt to the unknowns of pandemic life. However, for Ashley, a constant state of uncertainty is nothing new.
Ashley’s family moved into their current apartment after living in a shelter for a year. Her father is living in a long-term care home after suffering from a stroke leaving her mother as a single parent with three children. Ashley also struggles to focus when in large groups but with the help of TCM, this summer she learned how to access the online program where she learned about the attributes of God, the Bible, did crafts, participated in memory verse challenges and enjoyed interactions with other children.
Your extra gift of $35 will go towards sending Ashley and others like her to KIC and other programs that build on the strong foundation that has been laid this summer. You will give her the opportunity to continue her journey in knowing Christ as she enjoys Bible time, praise and worship, and positive interactions with leaders and other children.
Since 1879, Toronto City Mission has striven to be a source of stability for children and families impacted by poverty. And as we start an unprecedented school year, I’m proud to say that we remain committed to being there for the kids. But Ashley needs your help.
With a one time gift of $70 you can help support two children like Ashely through KIC and other programs that help families impacted by poverty lead transformed lives. Fostering confidence, teamwork and decision making skills, and a positive attitude towards learning, you can help Ashley and her friends discover that, despite the uncertainties of the world around them, God will always love them.
Can we rely on your support to be a source of stability and hope as Ashley continues on her faith journey?
In Christ,
Elliott Shin
