Michelle's Story
Hello friends!
Christmas is always a warm reminder of how God sent Jesus to come for us. His work that started in Genesis led up to a great promise fulfilled, demonstrating His sovereignty and steadfast love. As such, we often celebrate Christmas in remembering His love for us, and also in spending time with loved ones.
What we may not typically think of is the circumstances in which Jesus was born into this world. He was born to parents who struggled with poverty (Luke 2:24), having to flee as refugees to Egypt at a young age (Matthew 2:13-15), then living the rest of his life under Roman occupation that remained beyond His death and resurrection.
During this Christmas season, we are reminded of a child named Michelle who has been connected with TCM for the past couple years. Through relationships built with her family, they shared their story, fleeing to Canada as refugees, leaving behind accomplished careers to start over. Although Michelle has been attending TCM programs, she has been adamant in wanting nothing to do with Christianity due to her and her family’s experience of seeing people killed for their faith in their home country. However, over time, Michelle began experiencing the impact that the gospel has on people’s lives. She noticed changes in people, and despite not accepting the faith aspect of it, she began to see the value in it, wanting to become more involved with TCM.
Would you join us as we continue to walk alongside Michelle and her family in their faith journey?
Only with your support, we are able to continue to provide programs at no cost to children like Michelle. We hope that through the gospel, Michelle and her family will find healing from their past, especially in their relationship with religion and faith. Our prayer is that one day, they would come to know Jesus as their personal Saviour who understands the impact of poverty and their experience as refugees.
Your Gift of Christmas will help children like Michelle to participate in the life-changing programs TCM offers. The Gift of Christmas includes:
