God’s Still Working on Me
By Jeff Barker (Outreach Staff – Willowtree)
I used to be a little disappointed that I could not really point to one moment where I felt that God had changed my life. However, God started to show me that by only looking for that one point where my life changed I was missing out on how God has and is continuing to shape me over a longer period of time.
One of the most important things that I am often reminded of through spending time with the children and youth from Willowtree is that God is not only working in their lives but He is continuing to work in my life as well. It is really cool to reflect on how God is blessing, encouraging, teaching me and showing love to me through the relationships that I have with the children and youth from Willowtree.
Philippians 1:6 says “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Sometimes we might feel like a finished product, that God has finished working in our lives and transforming us. However, the process of God shaping us is ongoing. God can impact us all differently and I am really excited to see how God continues to work in my life and in the lives of the children and youth from Willowtree.
