Chocolate Chip Cookies | Jin | #30DaysofSonshine

This summer, Jin was supposed to be a summer intern for Flemingdon Park. Today, she will be sharing her favourite chocolate chip cookie recipe!

It is super easy to make and you only need a handful of ingredients. 

Ingredients:

• 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

• ½ teaspoon baking soda

• Pinch of salt

• 2 tablespoons white sugar

• 1 cup brown sugar

• ¾ cup softened butter

• 1 egg and 1 egg yolk

• 1 ½ cups chocolate chips

Tools:

• Measuring cups

• Small bowl

• Big bowl

• Whisk

• Plastic Spatula or Spoon

• Baking Tray

• Parchment Paper

• Ice Cream Scoop

Steps:

Step 1

Gather all of your ingredients for baking!

Step 2

Put flour, baking soda, and salt into the small bowl. Whisk together until well combined then set aside.

Step 3

Put butter, white sugar, brown sugar, egg and egg yolk into the large bowl. Whisk together until well combined.

Step 4

Little by little, fold in your dry mixture into your wet mixture by using a plastic spatula or spoon.

Step 5

Once your dry and wet ingredients are fully mixed together, your batter is ready!

Step 6

Take chocolate chips – or any kind of chocolate you like – and mix it into your batter. I like to have different kinds of chocolate so I mixed milk, semi-sweet an dark chocolate together.

Step 7

Make sure you’ve mixed in the chocolate evenly throughout the batter.

Step 8 & 9

Using an ice cream scoop, place evenly scooped chocolate chip batter onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. To have chewy, well-shaped cookies, place the tray with the scooped batter into the fridge for at least 30 minutes!

Ten minutes before you’re ready to bake, preheat your oven for 375 degrees Fahrenheit. If you’ve never done this before, please ask for help!

Step 10

Once your oven is ready, place six chilled scoops of batter onto a tray lined by parchment paper. Bake each set for 10-12 minutes.
