What is Love?
At the beginning of the year, the children in KIC learned all about love from 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 and what it means to share that love with others. They learned imperative lessons that even adults have a hard time living out. They learned that love is more than just a word or a feeling. God tells us that love is an action. That sometimes it's difficult to be patient but God gives us the strength to be patient. The Bible says that Jesus showed His love and kindness for us by laying down his life for us (dying on the cross for our sins). An important message but hard lesson to learn is that we do not need to be envious of anyone for anything they may have because our treasure (God) is in heaven and we’ll have it forever after our lives on earth. They learned that love is not easily angered, neither does it keep a record of wrongs. That forgiveness is important and it means choosing not to pay someone back when they hurt you. We should forgive others because Christ forgave us. To love is to rejoice in the truth, which means to know the truth. What is the truth? Jesus!! Knowing that He died on the cross for us. For Valentine's day, they recited 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NLT) in a video for you!
