Firstly, I would like to give God all the thanks and glory for providing me with this opportunity to intern here at TCM. The work that God is doing through TCM is amazing. I was able to see the lives that were changed and impacted by this organization and the ongoing effect of this ministry touching people’s lives in the community of St. James Town.

As the end of the summer internship is coming up, I realize how much God has taught me about His love. I also realized my inability to love. God quickly showed me how sensitive the human heart is that a grown man like me was afraid to love the children. I was afraid that my love would get rejected or would not be enough for the kids. As a result, I found myself being self-conscious and selective. This is when God gave me His word from 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

“Love is patient, Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”

I rebel and sin against God countless times, but He does not hold back His love for me. I realized that this great love that God has for me, He has for the children as well. God allowed me to see the children through His eyes to see how precious they were to Him and that brought me great joy.

I am so grateful for the relationships that were built throughout my internship and I hope to pursue it. One of my fellow interns told me that TCM is like a drug, that once you are hooked, you can never go back. I couldn’t agree more. I love the work that TCM is doing in the city and hope to be part of it.

I pray for all the children who are involved with TCM that they would come to meet Christ and flourish in their relationships with God.
